Kaci recommends: The First Girl Child
The First Girl Child by Amy Harmon is a solid five-star novel, and has quickly made its way to my top five reads! From the undertone of Norse mythology to the believable love stories (there are two) that pull at the heart strings, this story has everything a reader could ever want when escaping through literature.
The only unfortunate thing that came from this was my attempt to listen to The Bird and the Sword (another novel by Harmon) on Audible. I could simply not stomach the narrator and her -dare I say- high-pitched, annoying voice, and I ended up sending it back. I've never done that before, so I have a bit of guilt.
But do not fret. This will not deter me from considering myself an Amy Harmon fan. I definitely plan to read more from her. Next on my list, What the Wind Knows.
